Recipe: Frikadellen (German Hamburgers)

Frikadellen are a nice quick and easy weekday meal.  It is basically the same type of meat/breadcrumb combo that you would use in meatloaf.  Here is the recipe in case you want to give it a try:

1 lb ground beef

1 egg

1 tbs ketchup

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Mine were gluten free and with Italian seasoning)

1 tbs McCormicks Montreal Steak Seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste (I like mine with a little kick so I used crushed red pepper flakes)

Place all ingredients in a medium size bowl and combine. Don’t be shy – take off your rings, roll up your sleeves, and mush!

Next form your mixture into as many patties as you want.  We are only three here for dinner so – here are my three.  Cook on medium high heat until cooked through about 30 minutes – give or take.  You can add a lid for quicker cooking if you like.
