Crockpot Beef Stroganoff

003The recipe for this meal came from the website: Crockin’ Girls.

1 pound beef stew meat

1 medium yellow onion chopped

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of pepper

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 can beef broth

1 can cream of mushroom soup (I had cream of celery so I used that instead – it tasted quite good)

Mushrooms – fresh or canned if you like (my son does not like them so I left them out)

1 cup sour cream

egg noodles

001Spray your crockpot with cooking spray for easy clean up later.  Add the following ingredients: Beef, onion, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, mushrooms if you are using them, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and cream soup.  Stir all ingredients together.

002Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

About 30 minutes before serving – add the cup of sour cream.  Using about 1 tablespoon of flour and 1 – 2 teaspoons of water make a flour paste in a little bowl.  Add this to the crockpot stir again and cover.  Cook for the remainder of the time.

Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions.  Serve the stroganoff over the noodles and have a side salad for a complete meal.  Enjoy!

Crock Pot Beef Stew

015Tonight’s dinner was another dump and go recipe – the easiest for busy weekday dinners.  Here is all you need to do to have dinner on the table when you get home.

1 pound beef stew meat

3 cups chopped potatoes

1 cup chopped carrots (I used baby carrots)

1 cup chopped celery (about 3 stalks)

a few chopped green onions

3 cups water

Lawry’s Beef Stew mix

Salt and pepper to taste

003I always spray my crock pot with cooking spray first – makes for easier clean up later.  Put all ingredients into the crock pot.

004Cook on low for 7 -8 hours.  Serve with rolls or home made bread and butter.  Enjoy!
